“Justice League” is showing in 70MM on screen 3. As well as IMAX 2D; RPX 3D & 2D; Digital 2D & 3D.
I was surprised by the 70MM presentation. Might check that out this weekend.

The IMAX version of “Beauty & the Beast” is being shown in 1.90:1 aspect ratio. Not the full IMAX screen but pretty close.
2.35:1 aspect ration in non IMAX theaters.
Was disappointed that the overture on the soundtrack album was not included with the IMAX release.
No way this theater could match the Lincoln Square. There is no way to install a larger screen. Probably just install the same type of seating and possibly laser projection which is not really needed for the size screen that is there.
I didn’t notice any line on the screen from Row M Center on Saturday. What I did notice was some blurring in some of the tracking shots in the film.
My biggest complaint was they didn’t dim the lights during the previews and brought them up at the beginning of the end credits. I would think the 2 lighted IMAX signs on the side walls of the theater would have provided enough light for people coming in and leaving.
A theater can not install recliners and keep the prices the same. It cuts the seating by at least 50% or more and to keep the profits up the ticket prices have to be increased.
I for one hope the recliner is a passing phase in movie theaters.

The Paris is still showing “Love and Friendship” which has been showing all summer. The next movie will be 25th Anniversary of Merchant & Ivory’s “Howard’s End” the end of August. This film played here on it’s original release March of 92. “Cafe Society” is playing at the Cinema 1.
Big surprise. Bowtie did a great job with the remodel and I would assume it is a profitable location.
When I lived in NYC it was always my choice of theaters over the AMC and Regal locations.
It is a shame this theater was butchering in the first place when the 3rd screen was added. It is a shame that the Upper East Side was the hot spot for films in the 60’s & 70’s and almost all the theaters in that area are gone.
It seems now that NYC must be one of the most under screened areas in the US based on population. The majority of the theaters seem to be in the 34th Street and 42nd street areas that mostly serve the bridge and tunnel crowd.
Paramus has Blue Laws so stores are closed on Sundays except grocery stores. The theaters are the only thing open at the mall on a Subday. Makes parking easy.
There are no plans for installation of recliners in the IMAX. New seating is planned on being installed but they are not going to want to decrease the capacity by 50%. Then tickets would have to be $42 to make the nut,

Would not be surprised to hear that Arclight might locate in Hudson Yards. I see they are opening a location in Boston.

Last row was M. Row M center was where II always sat. It was the perfect viewing point IMHO.

There is an 8 screen iPic under construction in Rivertown Development in Dobbs Ferry off the Saw Mill Parkway in Westchester County.

Not likely to happen at the Chelsea. NYC is an extremely difficult city to get a liquor licence unless they can buy an existing permit.

No stadium in the orchestra seating of the Loews. Probably stadium seating in the balcony section. But never sat up there.
