I drive by this intersection all the time. Is the old theater in the mall with Trader Joes and Whole Foods? Can you narrow down the location for me? I would like to see it.
I like Catalina, but I haven’t been there since I got married. My wife gets seasick. There used to be some interesting hotel remains a bit north of the theater.
I’m not trying to be cruel, but I saw the movie at the request of some date back when it was first released and thought it was horrendous. Christopher Reeve was one of the stars. I had a tough time sitting through the whole film. If these folks enjoy the movie and partying like it’s 1912, more power to them.
I’m not sure about the eligibility. The theaters were part of the amusement pier and never really had their own identity. We had this discussion a while ago about the theater on the Queen Mary. I will take some pictures if I get over that way, though.
I’m going back to Atlantic City this weekend. I would take some pictures but offhand I can’t recall any theaters that are still standing. Even the Warner is down to a facade.

It was open when I drove by today, but I didn’t have time to stop in. I wonder if they gutted the interior when it was converted to a pawn shop.
