Melrose Enterprize bought out the land from the reality company and William Leatherbee pasted away three yrs later.
Boston Conccession was a partner of Melrose Enterprize and bought out the lease from Roxy Pichi after Roxy had won the battle to get all first run movies at the Triboro Cinema location paving the way for the Union to get first run movies quicker it all went to court and Roxy was to either take the pay off or when the lease ran out leave so it was a done deal and Roxy sold out two yrs eairly. Melrose Enterprize had all ready got permits to built 6 cinema there then they built 4 more and later added the other two making it a 12 plex Origiannly it was gonna be a 24 plex with stadium seating. However there were 5 partner that owned the Triboro, you had Melrose, Manasion,Boston Con,Demarios, and the film company that produced the horror pictures later on selling out the buisness to the reacent owners. and then it went to hell. fell apart and all Run Down i had run the projectors there a few time, worked conccession, usher and Asst manager in the eairly to mid 80’s However the Union was my home. til Roxy sold the Union theatre to Theatre Development Enterprizes Inc. then i became the Manager Projectionist..

Well ok lets cut to the chase i have opened several sub run theatres and well you need to look hard at the surroundings what is it that people see in the movies is this a place to screw a round , have fun , date, make love, questions quistions . first runs cost money but yeah you have to have them certain amount of weeks sub runs can break you unless you find a venture to sell sell sell consseccions profits work for a short time you need a happy medium and verity

James Fisher commented about 2nd run film rotation on Jun 27, 2007 at 2:02 am

Well now it does depend on what where talking about to give you more we need more need to know how many screen and seat as well as how many show do you run a day weekend and matinees if any but generally if its one screen i would run two different shows and daily one at like 7 the other 9 weekend two each one at like 130 the other at 4 then ya night show if you have more than one screen then you go by what make you the money and how long well heck i ran Indiana Jone’s for 18 weeks yes 18 weeks under contract for 8 but sold out every show every night for 12 weeks and then i still did around 5.000 a week with it so yeah it ran til it dropped dead on the 18 weeks most of my show i ran 2-4 weeks i looked at the market now there’s a lot out there to offer like the 24 pl ex cinema and so on i always gave them smoothing the big house couldn’t and still can’t PERSONALIZED SHOWMAN SHIP

email me @ i probably can help in a way Conccession is always 100% profit box office no profit unless ya charging $8-$9 per person i would liek to know the location what you have around you and what your looking to gain, the power of the people is overwhelming and yeah if you do a survey they will look for improvments at all cost so beware . been there done that also dont give admission free try buy one get one of $1.00 of or i always did Popcorn or soda free for one completed survey per house hold
