Yes about 1956 ticket prices, My Mom and I in that year paid 99cents for the first show at Xmas , plus full length movie,plus 36 rockettes, plus 60 corpse ballet members, probably the pit orchestra was 65 strong (no recorded music),plus 25 male chorus, plus ice skaters,plus comic, plus Wurlitzer organ short concert to start and used again during the Navivity number,plus original waterfall curtain, which you didn’t see walking feet under , plus a 6 page free printed program. As a pricing example the first balcony was $1.25. Plus real scenery not digital! All elevators were used and the bandcar,what an experience, thank you ,thank god I’m old!!!!

Hello Again Joe, I can’t believe that Universal Studios tore down the 1925 soundstage#28 which held the interior set of the Paris Opera House from the Lon Chaney silent “Phantom Of The Opera”. The destruction took place in Sept. of 2014. I’m so saddened by this. Until soon,Hank
Nothing new on the Emery Theater proceedings between Renaissanmce Project and the University Of Cincinnati,still a grid lock out side of the courtroom!
Mr Frank E. Lanius of Covington,Kentucky taught Marcus Loew what a nickelodeon was in the early 1900’s, Loew went on to own 400 theaters across the country. Mr. McMahon worked as a projectionist in Covington as well. Later Isaac McMahon went into Real Estate.
This is our lone survivor of all the downtown movie theaters, and it has been converted to a live venue. That said, I’m glad it has been saved for Shakespeare fans!

The spanking new St. Bernard Library just had their opening ceremmonies June 22,2015, on the former foot print of the Andalus Theater.

Manager in 1929 was Elmer A. Shard, it seated 750 patrons.Mr. Shard probably owned the Shard Th. later in the decade.

Removal of the splendid Albee Theatre on fifth street was Cincinnati’s most stupid theater loss.
