Como Theatre(now Cygnet Theatre) opened on 3/3/1938 with “Tainted money”,and “Smartest girl in town”. There was also a outdoor picture gardens (which may have opened the same day?). The picture gardens closed in the early 70’s due to noise from the newly installed air con. The picture gardens site may still be there unused? The indoor theatre may be extending onto the picture gardens site.

The address is wrong, the entrance Road was off Oceanic Drive, where the photo was taken, and the exit Road was off Bold Park Road. The Drive-in site was used for viewing Halley’s comet in 1986. The entrance Road, and exit Road and ramps,(and bases of snack bar/bio box, ticket booth/s,and screen still there, next to the Town of Cambridge Shire offices. I think it is planed to include the Drive-in site in the Town of Cambridge(or Bold Park) heritage trail?
