Rowville Village Drive-In - Sign 1960's - 1233 Stud Road, Rowville, VIC

Located in the outer west Melbourne suburb of Rowville, on Stud Road near Wellington Road. The Dandenong North Drive-In Drive-In opened on 12th July 1956 with Betty Hutton in “Red, Hot and Blue” & James Stewart in “Rear Window”. Later re-named Rowville Village Drive-In, it closed in 1985. The site was demolished(date unknown?). Only the trees remain from around the edge of the Rowville Village Drive-In site, the rest of the site is now houses and a motel(Baton Rogue - 1233 Stud Road).

Stud Road is also called Dangenong Valley Highway.

The only part of the drive-in remaining now, is a single poplar tree to the south of the Baton Rouge Motel, that was once a line of poplar trees behind the drive-in’s screen.
