Also in Mike post about the Melba I do not believe that there were any multiplexs in 1926.They may have twinned these houses but the Loews Park was a brand new quad in 1977.

I had the chance to move to Texas and manage the theater when it was going to open but I turned them down. I stayed in Nashville and Managed the Loews Crescent, Loews Madison, and Loews Melrose at different times of course. I always thought that If I would have gone I would have been Division Manager by know. Loews was great at moving people up in rank, I started working for them at the Loews Melrose as a doorman when I was 15,Red Coat, black pants and bow tie and all the popcorn you could eat. Great times….

Thanks for the up date C.T. The pictures links above are not the 1st. Crescent on 5th. ave. They are of the Crescent on 415 Church St.Known as the LOEWS CRESCENT at that time. I know this info is correct because I was the Asst. Manager at that time.Met my wife to be there also.

TLSLOEWS commented about Crescent Theatre on Nov 6, 2009 at 9:49 am

The info on this page is wrong this Crescent theater is long gone at 217 Fifth Ave.The Crescent at 415 church street was aka the Princess, Crescent and Loews Crescent, also Crescent Cineramia for a while. C.T. has a page calles Loews Crescent that has much better info.Needs to be updated.

Loews used to do the same thing. They would advertise the movie that they were playing and also put like see this movie such and such at the Loews whatever. They had large marquees back then so they had the room to cross ad.

In regards to an early post “A HARD DAYS NIGHT” played at the Paramont, but it also played at the LOEWS VENDOME I saw the records fro the Vendome that we stored at the Loews Crescent after the Vendome burned But the records did not burn in the fire.It sold a lot of tickets..

TLSLOEWS commented about Loew's Paradise Theatre on Nov 5, 2009 at 6:08 pm

Unkystan If I am not wrong the Loews Paradise never had a marquee as such. Something to do with the city codes there, I read this on their site somewhere, maybe they still can,t.All the other LOEWS WONDERS had marquess and Verticals.
