Not sure if you are aware of this old track or not. It sat right behind where the current Lincoln High School sets in Shinnston on property owned by George Rice who owned a drug store in Shinnston. It was one of the most unique facilities I have ever seen to this day. It was both a drive in theater and ¼ mile dirt race track, a real multi use facility back in the middle of the 50’s.. The concession stand was under the screen and also served as the concession stand for the track on nights (or days) the track operated.

I’m surprised that they did not twin or triple the DI in the later years.
They must have up-graded the screen tower to screen Cinema-Scope pictures after this picture was taken.

All the doors and gates were locked up with no trespassing signs posted. I did once and got busted at another DI…LOL!!

Thanks..I wish I had some pictures of it when it first open in 1941. I bet it had outside blast speakers.

I believe you post the later Albany DI to its own page and label it Albany DI (2) since it was moved to a different location.
bassale..the DI on Long Beach was the Wayside DI. It is on CT.
You can see the dividing wall going down the center of the drive-in. That was for the white section and the black section.
