Does SBS (Shadow Booking Service) have other independent theatres in the area as clients or in other states as well? If so, who are the other clients? It’s interesting to know.
I don’t see this theatre in the movie listings. So it looks like it’s officially closed. I have a feeling that the Jackson which they also own could probably be next.
The theatre from the outside looks old but from the inside it doesn’t look that bad. It looks like an old Cineplex Odeon movie house because Cineplex use to operate the theater. It’s now independently owned with Lesser booking it before. Now I wanna know who is SBS? Funny thing is I never been to the theater.
The theater is no longer owned by AMC. It is independently owned & uses Creative Ent. (sometimes it advertises that) as a booking service. Please update the netsite to show that.
Please update the listing to show 8 screens. My friend’s wife was in that theatre a couple of weeks ago & she was in theatre 7. They just added 2 more stadium seated auditoriums to this theatre.
Sad but true-the theatre will probably be replaced by a 16 screen theatre at Garden State Plaza with all the amenitities (Stadium seating, snack bar, etc). They are starting to construct it as we speak in an area where I normally park (where Borders is). I was there on Monday. I don’t know who the operator of this theatre will be but I have a feeling it will be AMC (Loews Cineplex). The last time I was in this theatre is when I saw Independence Day with my friend in 96.
As far as the Rt 17 triplex, the theatre is still vacant but I think it will be gutted down for more parking space for GSP.

I drove past there today and I have a feeling that this will be converted to retail. The listing should be changed to closed
It’s not in the theater listing so my feeling is that this theatre is officially closed. I’ll pass by there to see if this is official.
Please update the listing to show closed

The theatre is now owned by Boston Culinary Group using CMCI as a booking service.

Now it’s a Cheesecake Factory restaurant
I hacve a feeling the theater will be torn down after all for a restaurant or a bank.
It looks like this theatre is going to draw lost business from the Regal (UA) Patchogue .
and even before that Cineplex was the operator of this theater
What is this SBS listed in the movie listings? Is it the booking service or the owner? Before, Lesser was the booking service for this theatre.

It’s a very nice movie theatre and my favorite in this area. If I go to Garden State Plaza, I now can catch a flick there.
I live right down the block from this theatre. Is this theatre being expanded? I see it being under construction.
The theatre is now closed. Please update the listing.

If it has expanded to 8 screens. Please update the listing to show 8.

I think this has expanded to 8 screens. I was there last year when it was 6.
Please update the listing to show that the theatre is closed. It may not reopen.
Agreed on all of the comments you stated. Probably with plans of the expansion of Douglaston Plaza. Movieworld may be next.
When it’s gutted down what is it going to be? Please let me know. Also they closed the Fortway in Bay Ridge Bklyn.
The theatre is no longer in the listings in any of the NY papers. I think this theatre is a goner.
