It’s too bad that the Highland Park Theatre had to be closed due to fire/safety violations, but public safety must take priority here. What’s unfortunate is that the proprietors of the movie theatre could not or would not take the necessary steps to update the fire/safety rules and bring the building up to code in that regard.

The proprietors are the city. They closed down their own theater.

I think that other considerations are also at play here. Like the cost of digital conversion and the city wanting to get out of the movie theater business.

I happened to drive by here the other night for the first time in years. It was odd to see it dark. Growing up I saw many films at the HP.

Does anyone have an email address for the theater? Trying to get a used concession stand, please email me info. Thanks.
