CAS of Dayton seeking a venue

DAYTON, OH — The road back has been arduous for CAS, Cinema Arts Society of the Greater Dayton Area, since a major theft of funds and demolition of their Page Cinema Arts Theatre (formerly the Page Manor Twin Theatre) last year. However, the dedicated team headed by Executive Director, Linda E. Leas has managed to keep the CAS ship afloat. According to Leas, “we are rebuilding our treasury and have added new life to our Board of Trustees. We are now ready to take the next step, a permanent home/venue for our project. A theatre would be ideal; however, we are willing to consider other facilities that may be adaptable to the presentation of an ongoing film series and a home base for our non-profit corporation.”

“Most film series' presented will be comprised of three to five films representing a specific genre, actor, director the like.” Explained Leas, “like a salute to Rogers and Hammerstein, or operas and ballet, or Alfred Hitchcock, etc. We are open to any quality movies, from any era that deserve to be shown or shown again in this metro market. A discussion session would generally follow every performance. We are simply people who love movies is search of other movie lovers in search of good movies!”

CAS is reportedly willing to work in conjunction with other arts groups or alone in a facility that may be donated or made reasonably available to them.
