Hazard Kentucky Cinemas undergo restructuring add Oberleitner
HAZARD, KY — Condy Wayne and Wilhelmina Fugate have announced several changes to their Hazard, KY based theatre company which includes the Fugate Cinema 5 in Hazard and the 2-screen Way-Bak-Wyn, Drive-In theatre in Lost Creek, KY.
Operations are now handled through 3C Entertainment, Inc., a Fugate Family Enterprise, The Fugate family have operated theatres in the area for over 30 years. “ Our intent,” according to Wilhelmina Fugate,“ is to redecorate and improve efficiency at our current locations while preparing to open a new, state-of-the-art multi-plex unlike any other in the area.”
Improvements to the Cinema 5 are underway with the recent installation of digital, 3D, equipment in one screen, new paint, uniforms and expanded concession offerings. Announcements about the re-opening of the Way-Bak-Wyn Drive-In “festival” are forthcoming as is a formal announcement about the planned, new multi-plex. “We have a strong management team,” stated Fugate, “ including the legendary talents of Fred and Lori Schweitzer of PBS Booking Service, and the premier cinema business services of Jack Oberleitner, Oberleitner Associates Cinema Consulting, www.cinema-consultant.com.

I hope they are not going to shut the Way-Bak-Wyn DI down.
There are no plans to close the drive-in! In fact, it will undergo a facelift this Spring and plans are in the making for a opening weekend “festival” featuring live music, special movies and prizes. Stay tuned.
