Maple Art to close

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI — Landmark Theatres has lost its lease for the Maple Art Theatre and it will close at the end of the month. No word yet on the building’s future but the beloved art house will be missed.

A later article in the Detroit Free Pressindicates hat the Maple is being taken over by a new operator that will close it in April for renovations and then reopen it:

Interesting. Local operator will take it over but films will be booked by Clearview which currently operates on the East Coast. Clearview books many arthouse films, so audience members will be pleased.
