Art-film houses going through rebirth in Fairfield County

STAMFORD, CT — By becoming non-profits and presenting interactive entertainment, some Fairfield County cinemas like the Bijou are positioning themselves as a viable alternative to the multiplexes.

The Little Theatre in Rochester, NY did this. I’m conflicted about it. Preserving the theatres and presenting an “alternative” to the plexes is fine but I bet there are tons of other businesses (including theatres) that wish they could pull the same thing.
In some ways it just doesn’t seem right.
