WASHINGTON, DC — Celebrating the history of film, the Smithsonian and Warner Bros. are joining forces for a new film series at the museum. In what’s expected to be a free program, they’ll present themed-series' focusing on subjects ranging from Humphrey Bogart to the Civil War. These will all take place in the renovated Carmichael Auditorium.
More details are in the Washington Post.

I’ve not been in this auditorium. How large is the screen? Is this to be 35mm projection of classics?
Having just read the article, $5M is a lot for one theater. The auditoriums seating of under 300 remains the same, so I’m guessing the screen can’t be larger then say 50 ft. It supposedly has 3D capability.
why hasn’t this been updated/included in the DC theater listings?
