Britain’s Old Theatres

The current edition of Britain’s cherished magazine of nostalgia, OLD THEATRES, (Edition 10) features a section devoted to theatres which became cinemas. Several London theatres are included in Mike Lang’s article, including Putney Hippodrome which was converted into a cinema during its early days and the Shakespeare theatre at Clapham Junction. We show pictures of its exterior and auditorium, together with Camden Hippodrome, Clapham Grand, and Blyth Theatre Royal.
