Anyone who wants to see current shots of this treasure on Broadway. Click the attachments link for Great shots of the theatre and some of the office space in the building. The theatre looks like it’s in Great shape. And it’s only a half block from the restored Orpheum Theatre.

Wow! Wouldn’t it be great to see the United Artists lit up again like the Orpheum? I toured it a few years ago on an LA Conservancy theatre tour and it’s in GREAT shape! Lots of vacant office space there (the whole building?) but maybe some or all of that could be converted to condos like so much other downtown LA real estate.

The 2760 seat Ritz Theatre in Elizabeth New Jersey has been listed on there for about a year. Completely renovated (except the stage area rigging). $3.8 million

I noticed others on Loopnet on a dedicated theater page that I stumbled across: http://www.loopnet.com/Theater-For-Sale/

They aren’t all theaters, but still a pretty good list.

On another note, this is slightly outdated news, but a small but long time local cultural establishment in Santa Monica, the Puppetry Center, has closed.

Newer interior/exterior shots on the sales notice for the El Rey might be helpful. I hope its still looks that pristine on the inside as the outside is looking a little rundown.
