Looking for a new way to attract advertiser dollars, the increase in 3-D projectors in theaters will also bring more 3-D ads.
The number of theaters that could handle 3-D advertising has limited 3-D cinema advertising. Screenvision aired the first 3-D ad for Wrigley last May, which aired for five weeks in more than 400 theaters. By the end of the year, only 7,736 theaters had digital projectors, per the Motion Picture Association of America.
With more film studios producing 3-D films, theaters are gearing up to attract moviegoers and lure advertisers with a new way to promote brands.

This is good news for companies who need cash by advertising their product. Pretty soon there will be 3D ads during the World Cup on ESPN3d at home. Hopefully the AMC in Rockaway will show 3D ads alongside the 3D trailers and the movie.
Now Wilcox Theatres here in Vicksburg mas has been behind the curb when it comes to 3d tech. Either they can’t afford the lens for thier digital conversation or they want it. But they don’t get the big cinema hits which are in 3d. As a result the small operator loses his his market to the larger markets like those in Jackson metro area where Cinemas like the Malco17 in Madison have 3d tech to show 3d movies. Like Disney’s fourth Toy Story didn’t open here at all in Vicksburg but since this small operator doesn’t have the 3d tech I believe effects the bottom line.
