Wildeye Releasing is currently producing a documentary on the cinemas of 42nd St, NY during the 1970s and 80s. We are looking to interview any projectionist, ticket taker or candy stand attendee who worked any of the theaters on 42nd St located between 7th and 8th Avenue.
We are slowly putting this documentary together, three major interviews with filmmakers and an actor who’s work was shown on the Deuce are already in the can.
You can contact or if you’re interested in telling your story or sharing your memories. Feel free to visit our website www.wildeyereleasing.com.

I look forward to that film.
Please try and include the people behind all those magnificent marquees which had to changed on almost a daily basis. They were a work of art so well thought out and attractivly presented show after show. I would walk the street from end to end just to admire them.
Hopefully you’ll show some of my Deuce from the 50s-60s – at least for comparison sake.
Hello Vito,
Yes, absolutely, anyone who worked those theaters in any capacity is welcome to come forward and talk, we want to hear it all.
Jerry, yes, we will be doing compare and contrast, though a lot of the focus will be on the 70s & 80s. But a history will be included.
I don’t have any memories, but am looking for someone who will share their’s with me! Interested in learing about the West Coast Theatres, built during the 20’s and 30’s by CL Langley, my grandfather. Am researcing that era, and my family history, of which I know little. Do know that the Alex Theatre in Glendale was named after my father, Claude Alexander Langley, a toddler at the time it was built. If you have pictures or stories and ifno, please let me know!! Would so much appreciate it!
Hey, Nice to view the attractive peace of blog which really blow the knowledge to the help from the film, This will be so thoughtful and creative for us….
Thanks & Regards

The 70s and 80s were when I went to more movies than ever. I was in my 20s and 30s so this project is of special interest. Also…since I did spend a fair amount of time in California as well.
Would like to see it when finished.
The old carbon-arc Projectionists are dying off better get this done soon.
