DRIVE-IN SUPER MONSTER-RAMA
VANDERGRIFT, PA — Riverside Drive-In Theatre, Sept 11-12
What is DRIVE-IN SUPER MONSTER-RAMA?
Ever wish you could go into a time machine and go back to a time when life was much more simple, but far more fun? Well, here it is! DRIVE-IN SUPER MONSTER-RAMA is two nights of classic horror and science fiction 35mm prints presented at an authentic drive-in movie theater. There will be two big shows on two consecutive nights which will start at dusk and go on until really late into the night! This is the second year in a row that we are hosting such an event, so we encourage all East Coast drive-in movie fanatics to attend and make it another rousing success! What could be better than a weekend getaway topped off with two nights of classic monster movies on the big outdoor screen? We realize that everything is so expensive these days, but admission is only $10 a person each night! Plus, children 12 and under are free with parent or adult guardian. How can you beat that? The Riverside’s concession stand is loaded with reasonably priced goodies, including hot foods, hot and cold drinks, candy, popcorn and much more!
What is being shown and when?
On Friday, September 11, the features will be WITCHFINDER GENERAL, SCREAM AND SCREAM AGAIN, THE CRIMSON CULT and TERROR CREATURES FROM THE GRAVE.
On Saturday, September 12, our all-Hammer Horror night will feature THE VAMPIRE LOVERS, THE 7 BROTHERS MEET DRACULA, THE SATANIC RITES OF DRACULA and VAMPIRE CIRCUS.
Each night we will also present an array of vintage monster movies trailers in between the features which we know you will just love! This year, we might even have a few surprise short subjects!

AWESOME !!!!!!!!!
Whooooooo!
Anyone think they can make it?
I remember when they used to have all-night shock features at the local drive-in theatre here in Durham. The Forest Drive-In Theatre on Wake Forest Highway (State Highway NC 98) did this once around Halloween week. Long time ago.
Since these are early seventies titles, life may have been more simple and fun for kids but hardly that for post Vietnam, cold war drenched, porn soaked and drugged adults in America.
This is third year in a row that we’re doing this.
why do awsome things likethis happen now where near me
I remember playing some of these movies on Late Shows in 1974 and 1975 and even then the prints were not in the best of shape. I guess that is the fun of going to the DRIVE-In.Like NEWT said wish you were closer to GEORGIA.
It could only happen in Georgia.
I just know LOEWS as too big of a bigshot outfit to have to lower themselves to booking “THE MAGIC CHRISTIAN” or “TOMMY” on late shows. I bet you guys never played a late show. didn’t want beer vomit on your carpets.LOL!
We had a mid-night premier of “CARRIE” at the LOEWS CRESCENT after the last scene people ran out onto Church Street luckly it was about 1:45 A.M. and no traffice,It was the first time anyone saw this movie and it scared the hell of of them.We hardly had late night showing.
Well, you certainly missed out on the 70’s fun with late shows. Do you remember at the end of the movie she is walking to the camera and a car in the background is driving backwards down the street. We played “CARRIE” i never watched it except when i had to see the ending to get the exit doors open. I saw it and never could undrstand why the VW bug {ithink}was driving backwards. Well, one spots stuff like this seeing the movie over and over. Like Ned Beatty’s gun holster being on different sides in the movie “SILVER STREAK” Jill Clayberg use to be my movie star girl. Terri Garr TOO!
