Looking for a marketing/promotions position

Hello all!
I have over 7 years in movie theater management, and I’m ready to leap to the next level. I am ideally looking for a marketing or promotions position (not sales), or graphic design. I’d also consider a position dealing with film numbers or any other corporate position.
I love movies, I love the atmosphere. I just would like to get out of the field and move my career to the next level!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Good luck to you. A lot of newspapers dont do individual ads anymore, so your best bet would be to try a small regional chain, or an independant. I know as a projectionist for 33 ½ years, a lot has changed. Perhaps hooking up with a studio would be a place to try also. Let us know how you make out.
Thanks movie534… I was thinking more along the lines of in-theater marketing and on-screen marketing instead of newspaper ads. I left a small regional chain a couple years ago, and have contacted them about a promotions position, but they don’t seem interested. It’s a shame when budgets get tight that the first thing to get cut is the advertising budget. My thoughts is that if you don’t advertise, your competitor surely will!
Im probably biased cause I work for one. But if a movie theater/chain isnt hiring you might want to see if any theater groups are hiring. The regional Theater Industry mag always seems to have at least a couple Head of Marketing or Marketing Associate ads in it. Even with the down turn theater groups are still receiving grants to cover the salary of a Marketing person. A good way to get your name about town pending a Cinema hiring. And itll have plenty of atmosphere…its an office full of actors, directors and techs barreling along to get each show open and each performance going smoothly.
