COSHOCTON, OH — The Hollywood Studios Movie Theater closed in early August, but hopes to reopen the end of October or the first of November, according to its manager.
The owner blamed the closing of the two-screen cinema on the slow economy and with filmgoers traveling to a nearby multi-screen, stadium-seating style theater that opened two years ago.
This occured at the same time of the traditional mid-August-through-September business slump.
Grosses were down 15% this year from last year, and last year’s grosses were down 15% from the year before, the owner said.
The company’s website listed theaters in Delaware and Westland, OH as closed and theaters in Coshocton and Westerville, OH as “closed temporarily.”
