DTS Digital Cinema business sold to Beaufort

Beaufort International Group Plc announced that it has acquired the business and assets of DTS Digital Cinema from DTS, Inc. for an undisclosed sum. Beaufort made the acquisition through its US subsidiary, Beaufort California, Inc.

Kinda confusing. Does this mean the digital audio division or the television division?
It’s the digital cinema part of DTS. They still have the rights to the DTS audio codec and the systems used in a lot of theaters. They’re becoming a bit smaller than Dolby, the main competitor, since double d does have a digital cinema division; Sony used to have a digital cinema division that created SDDS but has since closed shop in 2002 to focus more on home entertainment and video games.
Dts is now known as DTS digital entertainment and does mostly home theater stuff. The cinema audio divison that DTS sold off is now datastat digital entertainment: http://www.datasatdigital.com/
