Nuart in Primetime TV

The Nuart Theatre was shown during Mondays’s episode of “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS. In this episode, two of the main characters go out to see a Planet of the Apes marathon at the Nuart, very simliar to what is happening right now over at the Ziegfeld Theatre.

The only catch is that the drinks have the AMC logo rather than the Landmark insignia on them. It’s a shame that the show’s creators changed the branding just to avoid lawsuits and such.

Why would there be a lawsuit? The Production Company that produces the show rented the theatre as a location from Landmark Theatres. Their Art Department dressed the set/snack bar AMC logo items. This has been done for many years in Film and Television production. Most of the times it’s brand or product placement. So the Production Company mayhave made a deal to feature the theatre as a AMC house for the show. Just like Coke has a deal with American Idol for those red Coke glasses that the judges have on the table in front of them.
It’s a commerical within a show.

I don’t think the Ziegfeld Theatre is running a PLANET OF THE APES marathon; just the first film, in honor of its 40th anniversary.

Sorry for my bias. It’s nice that AMC advertised itself on a tv show. Too bad the AMC in Rockaway is not playing the old Planet of the Apes. Back when it was the Rockaway 12, they showed the remake, which wasn’t as good as the original but still a decent Tim Burton movie.

Or consider this…

Maybe the EXTERNAL shots were indeed the Nuart…but maybe the INTERNAL shots of the theatre were filmed either on a soundstage or at an AMC Theatres location (possibly one of their 3 Burbank locations).

Speaking of the original PLANET OF THE APES, would you believe that I’d never seen ANY of the sequels until very recently??? You see, my whole life, I’ve been so in love with the classic Statue of Liberty ending of the first one, that I didn’t want anything to ruin that everlasting image by seeing a bunch of sequels. Well, I finally caved in and rented the other four. While I found ESCAPE FROM THE PLANET OF THE APES mildly amusing and entertaining, the other three sucked!

Is it just my interpretation or does ESCAPE, CONQUEST and BATTLE play out a little like the “Terminator” films; in that we are taken back in time to see how a future we already know to be will come to pass throughout time?

Very cool blog. I liked Theater Noir when my ex-boyfriend and I were at one of the performances. True, I did not have time to complete the tasks for the teacher of my university at that time. well i know https://legitimateessaywriting.com/writemyessays-info-review/ where I ordered the abstract. Finally got the highest score! And most importantly, I enjoyed the performance, the acoustics of the theater and spent a chic evening.
