Hello everybody.
I am wondering what has happened to the Village Entertainment/Village Theatres chain. Consider the following:
1) The Village North, per its phone number, is now called “Visionary Theatres”.
2) The North Riverside is now operated by Classic Cinemas.
3) The Lincoln Village and the Bloomingdale Court are now run by Indian (Bollywood) film companies, although they do show Hollywood films too. According to Yahoo Movies, the Lincoln Village is now called “Fun Asia Devon”.
4) The Glenwood is up for lease.
5) Village has not updated its website since July, 2008.
So has Village Entertainment officially gone out of business or what? They took over good movie theatres and ran them into the ground.

According to BWChicago, Village folded on September 12th.
At least Classic Cinemas took over the North Riverside and did a great remodeling job.
Correction…the Lincoln Village WAS called FunAsia Devon. It would seem they are gone as the phone just rings and rings and it is no longer listed on the FunAsia site. Does anyone know when they closed? Is there a link to the BWChicago story? I’d like to read it. Thanks.
