October is National Popcorn Month and Classic Cinemas, which has 12 theaters and 88 screens in northern Illinois, will offer a free 46-ounce popcorn to people who sign up to receive their promotional emails. Refills will be free and Tuesdays will feature buckets for only 75 cents.
The promotion also coincides with the company celebrating its 30th anniversary.
The chain goes through three tons of popcorn a month and pops its popcorn fresh daily in $10,000 poppers.

Very nice gesture for Classic Cinemas to offer free popcorn.
So what will the big boys (AMC, Regal, Cinemark) do to celebrate Nat'l Popcorn Month? Probably sell stale popcorn at $5.00 a sack!
It would be nice if this were to take place in other parts of the country, too…namely places like Boston and many other places.
If I had only a penny for each corn I poppped I would be a very rich guy right now.Oh,the stories of popping popcorn only to get pissed when they came an grabbbed a large bag for the concession.Never could get ahead on a busy weekend. On “JAWS” we hired one guy just to pop popcorn for quite a few weeks.
