Developer wants $6 million city loan to build cinema

ORLANDO, FL — A developer is trying to convince the city to loan him $6 million to turn an unfinished downtown multiplex into a “cinema grill.”
This would be in addition to an already agreed upon $3.5 million paid over 10 years to help keep the theater operating.
City officials are convinced a theater is key to the economic health of the downtown area and are researching the proposal.
The cinema grill would have 12 digital screens with terraced tables where patrons would watch first-run movies while being served food and drinks.
Most of the theaters would seat fewer than 125 people, with the largest seating 292. The theater would make most of its money from food, beer and wine sales.
The theater would anchor The Plaza, a downtown redevelopment project that was built with earlier city incentives.

Yup, nothing like having those 12 screens all digital. Maybe they will follow the concept of the theatre that was posted about a week ago, and not even have a projection room. After all, if there are no REAL projectors, then you dont need a projection room. Just stick those those good old digitals right there in the auditorium.
