My student niece was able to borrow this book from her university library for me, and it looks quite interesting. But somebody please tell me why this out of print book about exhibition published in 1983 is so incredibly hard to find. In fact, bookfinder.com even lists it as “Out of Print- Hard to Find”.
FYI:The circulating copy in the NYC Performing Arts library was absconded. No other public libraries have it. Grab it with both hands should it come available on Ebay, Amazon, etc.
Am quite intrigued how this book ended up being so obscure.

Tom,
There are over 100 libraries around the country that list this book on WorldCat. Since I am presuming you are in the NYC area, you can find it at the following libraries: Columbia University, Hofstra University, and St. Johns University. As you mention, nearly every library that holds this book is a university library. However, there is another public library with a copy: the Boston Public Library. Although there may be some significant differences, if you want to order this book in its original dissertation format, you can do so by calling ProQuest at 1.800.521.3042. A softcover paper copy will run you $53 plus shipping.
Warren, thanks for your informative reply.
Ross, thanks for your’s as well. My niece got it from one of the NYC university libraries above and I will likely scan or photocopy it as it is not of a high quality typeface to begin with. Many thanks for the tip on ProQuest…who are they anyway? A rare book source I suppose?
Many thanks again..both of you please drop me a line if you have any Westchester County theater questions not answered on this forum.
Thanks Tom! As for ProQuest, they are a huge information resource company that reproduces dissertations and enables access to historic newspapers, amongst many other activities.
