TORONTO, CANADA — Would anyone be interested in stating up a small movie theater bizz or project in and around Toronto and the GTA (Greater Toronto Area)?

I looking for people that are movie theater buffs and that enjoys taking on tasks and have enough brains and bucks to do it.

I for one are tired of the Mega-Plex theaters that are going up everywhere, and im sure everyone eles here feels the same way, other wise you would not be on this website. Right?

Im looking at re-opening classic movie theatres that have been closed for sometime in the GTA, with locations in Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville and Toronto.

I already have lots of great ideas in doing this task, but I need some help in this project.

If you and interested in this project, please send me an email @ .

Thank you for you time.

P.S. Im also working on a “Movie Theater Book” and I’m almost finished working on my 1st book. It should be done very soon. I’m now looking for a book deal. Wish me good luck.

Take a look at this web site:

This company has a new twist on movie presentations.
They are taking on theaters that have been closed due to competitiion from the Mega-Plex locations.

The one at Houston – Deerbrook Commons was a GCM theatre that closed then AMC opened a 24 screen theatre right across the street in the Deerbrook shopping mall!

With all the theatres we have had close in NY in the last 25 years I have always been shocked nobody tried this food pub idea here.

Hello everyone…

That Movie Tavern is a great idea and it looks like there doing very well. I know theres lots of great theaters in New York, Toronto and other Major Cities though out the world that have so many theatres close up because of the Mega-Plexs popping up everywhere that they are killing the single screen theaters. I think having a Food/Pub/Movie Theater all in one would be a great way to bring people back to the big screen again, kind of like a Dinner and a Movie all at the same location.

All I have to do now is find a good location I could get things started on this project. Would anyone in the Toronto area be interested in this Movie Theater project?

When I’m visiting family in VA, I go here all the time:

I think this is a great example of what you’re proposing.

Had a very interesting discussion the other night about the state of cinemas in general, and the art house/second-run/nabe aspect to Toronto specifically, so it’s ironic that you’d be posting your idea. I’ll email you privately, but I think that the demonizing of megaplexes is too facile an approach to the ‘What’s happened to all the movie houses?’ question. I suspect it’s the wrong question being asked…and I also suspect that we’re all guilty (to varying degrees) of head-buried-in-sand-itis. I am an impassioned old cinema, drive-in, multi-plex, film lover, but as a result of various conversations I’ve had of late, I can see that the romantic nostalgia that we’re all prone to can be, at times, wickedly myopic. It’s a question of balancing an acceptance of times changing, while striving to protect parts of our heritage. To me, the great evil is not development. It’s the changing landscape of how people ‘see’ their movies. But that’s a much larger discussion than this posting supports. (How come this site doesn’t have any discussion boards…?)
