Henry G. Greene, Theater Architect, Dies at 93

SCARSDALE, NY — Theater architect Henry George Greene, who designed more than 80 live and movie theaters during the 1960’s and 70’s, died earlier this month at the age of 93.
Greene worked for ABC during its theater operating days as a consulting architect and may be most famous for designing the original Cine Capri in Phoenix—still mourned by moviegoers across the state.

May this great theater architect rest in peace and go to the great theatre in the sky. The likes of Mr. Greene, Mr. Rapp, Mr. Lamb, Mr. Eberson and so many others of their generation we probably won’t ever see again. I feel that today’s generation only knows the modern multi-plexes so it is up to basically the baby-boomer generation to restore the theatres of the 20’s-40’s or they won’t get restored!
Amen to that, God rest another great man. With all thier great minds I can`t wait to see the theatre they are building up there.
