Storyville Cinema Seeks Buyer

SALIDA, CO — The Storyville Cinema is now for sale

“Storyville Cinema is a profitable first-run twin achieving consistant increase in attendance and income for the past five years.

I have established favorable relationships with film distributors and converted the theatre from sub-run to first-run status; allowing the presentation of films during the first weeks of release.

With a total area of 6,778 sq/ft, each theater has a capacity of 115. The remainder of the space is allocated to the highly desirable Front of House, art gallery area which could simply be converted into a deli, ice cream parlor, coffee house, wine bar/lounge, or whatever your heart may desire. Should you decide on ice cream, we have a complete original/antique soda-fountain. Lounge? No problem, we have a three-tap keg cooler and currently hold a transferable beer and wine license.

Storyville is offered as turnkey business and real estate investment opportunity just waiting for your added personal touch. All of the mentioned applications can be implemented with the use of the included applainces and furniture; costing no more in order to transform the front of house into an additional revenue center.

I will gladly train the buyer in the operation of projection equipment and process of booking films. Generally working 15 to 20 hours a week, the theater side of things offers ample time to take on added services or pursue other outside interests.

The theater is located in one of the original buildings in Salida, and is on the main thoroughfare through downtown Salida, Colorado; the largest historic district in the state. Having witnessed a revitalization in recent years, this location offers the opportunity for tax credits and low interest loans from the Colorado Historical Society."

All…I emailed the owner (Brad) of this theatre and received more info. from him when he had it for sale on another site/publication. He was very open w/ providing information.

Having lived in Colorado for over 35 years, I can tell you that Salida is COLD and essentially in/surrounded by the mountains. However overall, this looked like a great opportunity to me (and still does)…but at this time I had no desire to pay the $$$ he is asking and move back to Colorado.

It will be a great find for someone…I’m jealous!

Hello All, Brad (the current owner) here, first, thanks for a great site. I have recently reduced the price (now offered at 375k) and listed the theatre with a new agency. Their site is http://www.premierbrokers-salida.com/ With all due respect to Dave S., Salida is rarely cold, we are located in what is referred to as “the bannana belt” of colorado, referring to the mild temps. Warmer winter temps than most other mountain areas, and cooler temps than most in the summer. Will post again with average temps. when I find them.
