The Rex Theater is located on 5th Street in the town of Hayden, Arizona. You can still make out the name and a few pieces of broken neon are hanging on.

The Film Daily Yearbook, 1941 gives a seating capacity of the Rex Theater as 350. The F.D.Y 1950 gives a seating capacity of 550.

I saw a shot of this theater showing most of the rest of the block on some website, and it looked like a ghost town! Is it?

Hey Don. Below is the link to the Facebook page for David Kroger. He posted the Rex Theatre photo on the “American Car Nostalgia 1930 – 1979 (All vintage pics)” Facebook page. He posts a lot of photos, so he may not know the original source. I did a reverse image search on the photo, and it came up with zero sources.
