The State Theatre was opened prior to 1934. The building is now the home of Valley Transportation and Bus Company, used for their offices and garage. Inside the former auditorium, much of the ceiling and side-wall ornamentation still existed until the summer of 2013, when the interior was gutted.

The current occupants, Valley Transportation are always very friendly, when I have asked to see the interior. It is used as a garage, but a lot of the ceiling, sides and entrance still have elements of the old theater.
My father had told me how when he was a kid back in the 1930’s he had taken a long trolly ride to the State just to see the Laurel & Hardy short Busy Bodies.

The auditorium was gutted by the bus company last summer. I had tried several times to get in contact with them and they weren’t responding to my messages, I guess I know why now.
