The Roseland Theatre was built in 1917, it was purchased by the Farmington Amusement Co. in 1921. The first ‘talkie’ was shown on New Years Day 1930. It was later remodeled and converted to a twin by B & B Theatres and known as the Flat River Movies 2. It was given another face lift in 1974 and it was operated by Kerasotes Theatres. The theatre showed first run attractions on both screens. It was last operated by AMC and closed on November 28, 2010. In 2016 it was converted into a church and community center.

Original name: Roseland. I believe a photo of the theatre before its modernization can be seen in the present lobby.

As of right now, my church, The River Worship Centre, is in the process of restoring this building! Unfortunately, we will not be able to run the original 35mm projectors, but will be using the building as a community center as well as our church. We are building a stage in front of the screen and will support dramas, plays, weddings, etc. Also, our pastor, D.J. Edwards, is a master magician, and will use the stage to hold his performances as well. We are very excited to re-open this building after 6 years of sitting vacant!
Opened in 1921.
