The Muskogee Twin Cinema was built in the early-1970’s at Curts Mall on East Shawnee Road in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The small twin was built by the Jerry Lewis Cinema chain and was operated under the name of The Movies! when it first opened, later the theatre was bought and managed by the Leake family. The theatre featured red and gold waterfall curtains and the lobby was decorated with wooden plaques that advertised classic movie one sheets.
The theatre was closed in June of 1983, when the Leake family built the Muskogee Cinema Four directly behind Curts Mall. The theatre was never demolished but was renovated to house a department store called Frougs and later a furniture store, which is still in business.

Curt’s Shopping Center is located on the northwest side of East Shawnee Road and Old OK Highway.
Jerry Lewis Cinemas and The Movies were two separate franchise systems. Since this cinema originally opened as The Movies 1 & 2, it surely would have been part of that franchise chain based in Oklahoma City.
