Cody Theatre

This vintage single-screen movie house opened July 8, 1937 with Wallace Beery in “Slave Ship”. It had 672 seats. Later reduced to 550 seats, it was still open screening first-run films until January 2008.

The building has been renovated and reopened as a live theatre, with classic movies which by 2020 had become a special events venue.

There is an outstanding view of the Cody taken by “elmada” in Lost Memory’s comment above this one and a November 2009 photo of the Cody Theater here.
