Regal Ronkonkoma Stadium 9

The Regal Ronkonkoma was the first stadium seating multiplex in the area. It was actually quite state-of-the-art when opened on October 9, 1998, when stadium seating was still a novelty. On July 9, 1999 it was taken over by Regal.

Although now seems a bit older compared to the new wave of deluxe cinema multiplexes recently opening, it is still a nice place to see a movie.

I went here for the first time yesterday. Very surprised at how nice it is. Does anyone know if this theatre is profitable? The area is kinda dingy and only a few people there.

Don’t know why it was built in the first place. There have been so many theaters in the general vicinity which have not survived: Ronkonkoma, Lakeside Cinema, College Plaza Twins, Patchogue Multiplex.

New seating capacities at this theater following the installation of Regal’s new “king-size” recliners (via Fandango’s reserved seating service):

  • Theaters 1 & 9 – 78 seats

  • Theaters 2 & 8 – 47 seats

  • Theaters 3 & 7 – 60 seats

  • Theaters 4 & 6 – 100 seats

  • Theater 5 – 158 seats

Wow, a whole 728 seats. In the day most single screen theaters had more than that.

The theatre was short lived up under the Hoyts Cinemas banner, became Regal Cinemas on July 9, 1999. Display ad in photos section.
