The State Theatre was located on South Street in Middletown, NY, across from the Paramount Theatre. It was opened on December 29, 1921 with Priscilla Dean in “Conflict” and vaudeveille on the stage.

My great-grandfather O. S. Hathaway, owned the State and Stratton theaters in Middletown, NY. Back then they were vaudeville theaters. I have some paper memorabilia from those days. I don’t know if I have any information you don’t already have. But feel free to drop me a line if you like.
