Winona 7 Theatres

Located on W. 2nd Street at Main Street. The Cine 4 was opened by Carisch Theatres on June 15, 1979 with 4-screens. On December 19, 1997 it was briefly renamed Winona Cinema following a 3-weeks remodeling closure. In February 1998 it expanded to 7-screens and on May 13, 1998 it was taken over by Essaness Theatre, who soon became Excellence Theatres. It is now operated by CEC Theatres.

Have they screened any of Winona Ryder’s movies here? She is from this town, and named after the town too.

This theater opened on June 15, 1979. It originally had only 4 screens and was called the Cine 4. The first four films shown were “Grease”, “Good Guys Wear Black”, “Butch & Sundance: The Early Years” and “Jaws”.

Correction: This opened as Cine 4, but was later briefly renamed the Winona Cinema on December 19, 1997 after three weeks of remodeling closure. It expanded to 7-screens in February 1998 and was renamed the Winona Cinema 7.

Taken over by Essaness Theaters on May 13, 1988, who renamed the chain Excellence Theaters a few months later.
