The film showing in dallasmovietheaters June 18, 2016 photo is “The Right To Happiness”. Which may or may not be a re-release of a 1915 film. Broan however confirms the photo is from November 29, 1919 Motion Picture News.

Oh, it was closed after 1950. I’d say 1952 or so.
I remember this theater well. My mom and dad (me too) walked to the Rex’s. They gave away dishes that my mother saved. They had talent shows too. Wonderful memories as a 4-6 yr old child. Thanks!

I have to disagree with the synopsis. I grew up a few blocks from the REX in the 1960s, and back then it was closed too. Better guess of the closing might be the 1950s.
