Located in the Prenslauer Berg district in the east of the city, on Am Friedrichsain near to Greifswalder Strasse. The Marchenbrunnen was opened in 1921. It was designed by architect Wilhelm Kratz. In 1936 it was remodeled to the plans of architects Gustav Neustein & Bruno Meltendorf. It was used for stage productions as well as films.

It was destroyed by Allied bombs in 1942. An apartment block has been built on the site.
