Winter Garden

The Winter Garden was Westerville’s first permanent theater. It operated from 1913 until the late-1920’s offering “refined motion pictures” for 15 cents.

Serials such as the “Perils of Pauline” were popular. The owner, in 1914, purchased a motion picture camera with which he photoed business, houses and people. He screened the results the following year.

The building has housed a number of businesses subsequently; currently a hair salon.

There is a historical marker on the building with an image of the facade.
