The Cinetown Gifu opened its doors on November 10, 2000 as a Toho-managed Chubu Kogyo theater, housing 10 screens and 2,096 seats (and 20 wheelchairs, two in each auditorium).

Chubu Kogyo changed its name to Chubu Toho on March 1, 2002, and was renamed TOHO Cinemas Gifu on November 11, 2004. Toho Cinemas took over the theater on March 1, 2008.
