Alexandra Hall

The Victoria Hall was also known as the Alexandra Hall. It was a multi-purpose building which could be used for boxing exhibitions and social functions. In 1904 it was an entertainment hall featuring music hall & theatre. In 1909 it was screening films.

In more recent years it became a snooker hall known as the Southern Snooker and Pool Centre. It was closed around 2010.

The building stood vacant until it was demolished around 2015. It has been approved to build one & two bedroom flats on the site, but was still a vacant plot in 2024.
