Elite Theatre

This theater was located in the opera house, which was a large and simple stone building with a brick facade, constructed sometime before 1905. Three storefronts occupied the ground floor, with the opera house above.

The 1911 map shows ‘moving pictures’ offered here. The theater is still listed in the 1914-15 AMPD, but the 1920 map shows the YMCA occupying the space.

The building today is in decent shape, with some rather bland storefronts. The upper story appears to be in use, but it’s unclear what for.
