The Regent Theatre opened its doors on June 3, 1920 with Peggy Hyland in “Cowardice Court”, along with a few unnamed shorts. It housed 570 seats, with 500 in the auditorium and 70 at a gallery. Famous Players last operated the theatre who closed it in May 1949.
