The Studio Stage Cinema (SSC) opened March 14, 1975 on a ten year leasing agreement launching with “That’s Entertainment”. Owner / Manager Tim Byron took home the United Motion Picture Association’s “Honored Showman” award at Show-A-Rama-20 in Kansas City in just the theater’s second year of operation. The one-screen cinema completed ten years of operation closing on August 1, 1985 with “The Goonies” splitting a screen with “A Nightmare on Elm Street”."
