Strand Theatre

This theatre appears on the 1911 Sanborn, on the ground floor of a 3-story brick commercial building. The building was one of the oldest on the block, dating to before 1886. The 1905 map shows a grocery here.

Likely a simple storefront conversion, in 1906 it was operating as the Star Continuous Show. From 1912 to 1919 it was the Star Theatre. From 1919 to 1924 it was the Strand Theatre. This was too close to far superior facilities to survive, and the 1925 map shows a store here. No later maps are available, but this building was replaced by a depressing one story office perhaps around 1970.
