The Hi-Way Drive-In opened its gates on July 26, 1965 with Shirley MacLaine in “John Goldfarb, Please Come Home” and Lex Barker in “The Deerslayer” along with an unknown amount of unnamed short subjects before each showing. The theater was located at the intersection between both MacKay Highway and Colton Brook Road.
It featured a total capacity of 400 cars and a 105x45ft screen, the largest screen in Eastern New Brunswick. It was operated by the brother team of Clifford and Allan McKinney of Rothesay (formerly Gagetown).
The Hi-Way Drive-In closed after the 1985 season.
