Zeughauskino

Located in the Mitte district in the east of the city centre. The historic and beautiful Baroque style Zeughaus building is the oldest building on the Unter den Linden. Built by Frederick III between 1695 and 1730. It suffered heavy damage by Allied bombs during World War II. Repairs began in 1949. In 1950 it was being used as the German Museum by the Communist DDR. In 1964 they opened a modern cinema in part of the building which was used to screen archive film from Communist sources. All seating is on a single floor. In 1966 it was given a name Camera Kino.

Since 1990 it has operated as the Zeughauskino screening films relevant to the German Historical Museum in which it is housed.
